6 Heroes of Newerth Beta Invites (Real Time Online Strategy Game Based on DoTA) For WebUpd8 Readers [Windows, Linux, Mac OS X]

Heroes of Newerth is a real-time online strategy game based on DoTA, currently in closed beta. It runs on Windows, Linux (native!) and Mac OS X.

Before requesting for an invite, consult the minimum system requirements (they are kind of high).

We have 6 invites which will give away to the first 6 WebUpd8 readers which will comment to this post using a valid email address (it must be an email address because I must enter your email address on the Heroes of Newerth website).

Update: there are no more invites left

How To Get A Free Spotify Invite (For Any Supported Country)

spotify ubuntu wine

In case you don't know, Spotify is a new service (free or premium) which allows you to listen to music on your computer, mobile phone (iPhone, Android), create playlists and a lot more.

Spotify introduced invites for most of the countries it is available for. But there is a way to get an invite quickly and free (thanks to kimme!). Read on!

Before getting your free Spotify invite, please note that it will only work for the countries Spotify is available in, like UK, etc.

To get your free Spotify invite:

3. Click on "Registrer deg na!" again (the new button, not the same as in step 2):

4. Enter the code in the image and press "Sjekk gyldighet" (the code is CASE sensitive):

You can click on "Klikk her tor a fa nytt blide" if you don't understand the code in the image.

That's it, you should now see a link with your invitation:

11 More Google Wave Invites Given Away By Web Upd8 Reader rkv

I'm not going to tell you the story once again. The main idea is that Web Upd8 reader rkv decided to send 11 more Google Wave invites to those which took part to our 'contest' (actually just a random draw). So even though it started as a 5 Google Wave invites giveaway, 21 invites were sent in the end.

The lucky winners which were given a Google Wave invite by rkv are:

1. vasiauvi
2. Robert
3. Jack
4. Stoker Himself
5. saurabhneo23
6. celluloid
7. alberto oliva
8. totalizator
9. Dolgion
10. Jaime
11. Ameya

Thank you all for being loyal Web Upd8 readers and a special thank you for RKV!

P.s.: sorry for yet another post on this, but I had to announce the winners.

Update: user Jack (aka Bruno) who received an invitation from Web Upd8 also decided to give 3 invitations to those who weren't lucky enough to win one. The 3 lucky winners are:

Alex
cherylkinden
Abhishek

Google Wave Invitations Winners Announced

Remember the 5 Google Wave invitations contest for Web Upd8 readers?

Like I told you, today I am announcing the winners. You can watch the draw in the video below:

You might have noticed there are 8 winners instead of 5. That's because I didn't give all my invitations yet so I could spare some more.

In plain text, these are the winners:

1. isian
2. lonic
3. pcdevil
4. feld
5. dennishojgaard
6. captainslog
7. bpollen
8. mahdi

Actually I am giving away 9 invitations. Another one will go to d0od but that's not part of the contest :)

Remember, these are nominations! There are no guarantees that the invitations will arrive. However, I already sent about 5 invitations to some friends and 4 of them arrived in about 24h. The fifth didn't so far. So, as you see, it depends on Google, not me.

If you didn't win, I'm sorry. BUT! I might give some more invitations soon! Stay tuned!

(Edit) Last moment idea: If you read this far and you didn't win an invitation: I like round numbers, so to make it 10, the first comment made with a valid Gmail address to this post gets an invitation to Google Wave.

5 Free Google Wave Invites For Web Upd8 Readers

google wave invites

Are you a Web Upd8 reader (subscriber) and you want a Google Wave invite? Here's what you need to do (nothing much really):

  • Prove that you are subscribed to the Web Upd8 RSS feed or by email - a screenshot would be good but if you know another way...
  • Comment with your Gmail email address so I'll know to which email address to send the invite to (don't forget to post the screenshot in the comment - you can upload it to a service such as tinypic.com and just comment with the link to it)
  • Read the rules carefully (see below)

I will then make a draw (which will be recorded and uploaded to YouTube), so the winners will picked randomly.

The rules:

-only one comment per person!
-the three requirements I mentioned in the beginning of the post are mandatory (prove you are a Web Upd8 subscriber, comment using your Gmail address and read these rules),
-valid comments must be posted until Tuesday (November 10, 2009), at 16:00 GMT.
-I will announce the winners on Tuesday evening or Wednesday, in a new blog post.

Note: The invitations are called "nominations" so they don't reach the invited user immediately - after you have been invited, give it some time to reach you and if it doesn't, complain to Google, not Web Upd8.

I can only give 5 Google Wave invitations for now because I must firstly ask my friends if they want one, but if I have any left, I will offer them in another post later on, here, on Web Upd8!

Google Wave Invites

No, I don't have any invites to give (actually, I could use one myself...) but I wanted to let you know about http://googlewaveinvites.com/, a website where people can give and request Google Wave invites.

If you badly want a Google Wave invite, you should try that website and maybe you'll get lucky. The chances are kind of slim, with 57026 requested invites and only 3288 invites "claimed" as sent so far, but who knows...
