You must already know that OpenOffice 3.1.1 was recently released but at the time I published that post, 3.1.1 wasn't available in the Launchpad PPA. Well, now you can install it from OpenOffice Scribblers PPA. You can follow the same instructions like in THIS POST.
OpenOffice 3.1.1 is mostly a bug-fix release, but it's always best to upgrade to the latest version. You can find full release notes, here.
