Ubuntu Light Themes 0.1.8 Update In Maverick Brings Fixes, Improves Menu Speed

The Ubuntu Light Themes - version 0.1.8 was released today (with a bit of a delay - these fixes were announced  a week ago on the Canonical Design blog)  and while it doesn't bring major changes, it improves the menu slowness (it seems the fix only improves the situation but does not completely solves it - see the comments on this post) and fixes bad contrast between text and background.

Here is the full light-themes 0.1.8 changelog:
  • Menuitem speedup
  • Subtle shadow on inactive notebook’s tabs
  • White text color on GtkProgressBar
  • Increased visibility of the resize gripper
  • Fixed contrast applied to elements in GtkStatusbar
  • More compatibility with custom color specified in Appearance Preferences
  • Increased contrast between text and background
  • Tweaks to the odd row color inside GtkTreeView

The update should come any minute for Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat users (if not already). If you're using Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx, you can already install it from our Light Themes PPA - instructions: Install The Ubuntu 10.10 Light Themes In Ubuntu 10.04 From A PPA Repository.
