Speaking of the updated Bisigi themes for Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid, there are a lot of people still using Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic and they might want to use the updated Bisigi themes but that's not easy - the new PPA is only for Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid and also Karmic doesn't have the latest Murrine engine so the themes won't work - but there is a way to do it.
Here is how you can get the Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Bisigi themes to work in Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic:
1. Add the WebUpd8 PPA or download the latest Murrine engine from here:
- 64bit: gtk2-engines-murrine_0.90.3+git20100323-webupd8-3~karmic2_amd64.deb (87.8 KiB)
- 32bit: gtk2-engines-murrine_0.90.3+git20100323-webupd8-3~karmic2_i386.deb (85.2 KiB)
2. Then you can either add the Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Bisigi themes PPA in Karmic (not exactly a great way to do it, but since the PPA only has themes, there shouldn't be any issues):
and then install all the Bisigi themes using this command:
If you don't want to add the PPA, you can manually download the themes from HERE (but there are way too many themes and I for one am a bit lazy so I added the PPA).
sudo bash -c "echo 'deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/bisigi/dev/ubuntu lucid main ' >> /etc/apt/sources.list"
sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys 881574DE
and then install all the Bisigi themes using this command:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install bisigi-themes
If you don't want to add the PPA, you can manually download the themes from HERE (but there are way too many themes and I for one am a bit lazy so I added the PPA).
