Simple Rhythmbox Plugins: Save Cover In Mp3 Metadata, Save Existing Cover in Mp3 Folder And More

Simple Rhythmbox Plugins is a collection of 5 Rhythmbox plugins which can: search for album cover on Google Images, save the existing cover in the mp3 folder, save the cover in the mp3 metadata, search the artist on Wikipedia and open the albumart cover.

To install Simple Rhythmbox Plugins, either download the archive from HERE and extract it into ~/.gnome2/rhythmbox/plugins or run the following commands to download and install the plugins:

mkdir -p ~/.gnome2/rhythmbox/plugins
cd ~/.gnome2/rhythmbox/plugins
wget http://sites.google.com/site/undo13/home/simple-rhythmbox-plugins/SimpleRBPlugins_en0.1.tar.bz2
tar -xvf SimpleRBPlugins_en0.1.tar.bz2
rm SimpleRBPlugins_en0.1.tar.bz2

Then enable the plugins from Edit > Plugins Rhythmbox menu item.

The saveTAGCover plugin needs python-mutagen and python-notify. Install these packages in Ubuntu using the following command:

sudo apt-get install python-mutagen python-notify
